New Antenna Progress

The new antenna has been ordered from ERI, a prominent manufacturer of FM broadcast antennas. It will be a 2-bay design custom made to match our frequency of 91.5 MHz. Installation is tentatively scheduled for August. During the installation process, which will take several hours, WKHR will remain on the air broadcasting via auxiliary facilities.

July 31, 2010 and I notice a great improvement in our reception of WKHR. We live in Parma Heights and had good reception until about a month or so; suddenly it became very weak and noisy. We missed listening to our favorite station that plays the great music of our youth. Has the new antenna system been installed yet? If so it sure is a clear signal today. Just felt you should know.

Since the time period after the new antenna was installed, I have reduced signal reception that allows another staion to drift in, occassionally. The signal is also reduced during morning hours.I live west of bainbridge but on the east side of Cleveland.

Reception out in the North Ridgeville area is very sporadic. Sometimes we get reception and sometimes we don't (lots of static). There have even been times where it sounds as though the station has been taken over by something that sounds like hip hop/rock music which is not our style. We love the big band sound and the music that you play on WKHR. Help please us to get better reception!!!!

I'm aferaid that a using a two bay antenna, for covering long distances was a poor choice. A five bay would have been a better chioce and an ERI rototiller design is not exactly what is needed in Geauga county, with very hilly terrain..You guy's should have asked an expert about how to cover Cleveland from Geauga county..There are only a couple of those people left
