Ah, summertime.

There are two times during the year when we have to concede to mother nature. Ice storms during winter, and record heat waves during the summer.

Right now, we're right in the middle of what is already a record breaking heat wave. As a result, we're experiencing a lot of flickering power and rolling outages. The problem with these types of power outages is that they don't have a single source of fault and can simply come and go several times a day.

We have battery backup units in place to handle our down time until the generators kick on. These things work great as long as they have a chance to charge in between outages. Unfortunately with these types of power outages, they don't have time to charge, and as a result we lose power to our equipment.

If we could raise the money, we could buy $250,000+ worth of equipment to solve this, but it just doesn't make sense to solve a problem that ultimately costs us about 1 full day of silence. We would rather invest your donations in to the equipment and facilities that keep the station available the other 364 days of the year.

Rest assured that as soon as we are aware of problems with the station, we are on top of getting it resolved as quick as mother nature will allow us to.

We thank you for your patience, and thank you for listening.
